Hello Is it ok to wrap the bonnet with a transparent vinyl before starting the moulding? In order not to damage the bonnet paint.

It is fine as long as you are using PVA release agent. Otherwise the gelcoat will attack the vinyl.

I am a bodykit manufacturer in HongKong. According to my 6 years experience on Hood molding. It was impossbile not tonot damage the bonnet paint for no matter what protections that you do! Its just....

I think you need to be looking at what is going wrong then... Certainly plug damage is always possible, but it is far from impossible to avoid it.

Hello Pleas don't. When you making molding. You will apply gel coat. Resin. Those material will give out heat in chemical reaction with heat. Those will make the vinyl holograms on yr hood. You need...

Like above, tried it before and the gelcoat weakened the vinyl making it soft and giving it some wrinkles...the curing of a mould can go up in temperatures till 70°C if thick lay up so this will...
