Whilst you shouldn't need to necessarily heat gun/blow torch - if it is cool, it might help the situation.

We always recommend working at 20C or above where possible. That includes bringing the resin up to this temperature. At or above 20C, XCR is thinner and this allows the majority of the air to self-degas without any issues.

The resin was cold and quite thick to mix,  I didn' think you needed a heat un with the xcr resin tho?  I' going to sand and apply another few coats tonight and I'll warm the resin to see if that solves the issue

Colder temperatures can have a significant effect on the viscosity of the resin - thicker resin is more difficult to mix which in turn can mean more air is entrapped whilst mixing but more importantly in this situation has the potential to make air release much more difficult to achieve.

Do you use a hot air gun/blow torch over the surface at all and do you know a) what temperature the resin/hardener is being stored and and b) what temperature you're working in?

If you have that much air entrapped then maybe the temperature was too low and/or you were too aggressive with the mixing.  We would not normally expect that many pinholes.  Have you got some photos showing the issue?

Iv just put down a few coats of xcr resin but the surface is full of tiny pinholes,  like it' not a few is thousands of them.. any idears on why?
