Bladder was simply a 3" polythene tube sealed at one end using a soldering iron. The other end was sealed around the brake pipe air tube using a party balloon. The brake pipe extended up to the curved end of the stick and helped to hold the bladder in place. The bladder was further held in place by the fishing line that was used to pull the overhanging carbon inwards so the top section of the mould could be fitted. Once to the two halves of the mould were together, but prior to bolting tight, the fishing line was cut and removed.

First attempt to gauge weight distribution and strength. Had a few issues which we repaired so it won't stand up to heavy usage but is a good starting point from which we can get data. Used fibreglass to make the mould and this was a mistake as it can only be heated to 93 deg C. This works but takes 12 hours to cure! Next mould will be made properly which will also allow me to run 3BAR pressure inside the stick, thereby enhancing the strength. What sort of process is this using? Prepreg carbon/aramid mix cured in oven. Pressure was applied internally using an inflatable bladder.
