Hi Guys,

I have a problem in my vacuum infusion process, with the vacuum pump turned on the pressure is constantly at 0.9 atm, but if I turn off the vacuum line the pressure starts to drop. I have already looked for microwaves and can not find anything.

Is it a problem for me to infuse the part and keep the pump running constantly until the healing time?

Are you clamping the exit line also, as it's not uncommon to find that the leak is from your catch pot set-up?

You should be performing a 'drop-test' prior to infusing your parts - clamp the exit line and leave for 20-30 minutes before unclamping the line (ensuring that you've used the pump to evacuate air from the catch pot side first). If the vacuum level doesn't change, then you're good to go. If it does, then you'll need to go around the perimeter of your part and exert some pressure on the taped edges, especially around the pleats, to try and eradicate the leak source. Then perform another drop test to see if this has worked.

If you're not using a catch pot with integral gauge, then if you switch on your pump before unclamping at the end of the drop test you'll hear crackling from the pump as it evacuates air from the bag if the loss of vacuum isn't visibly noticeable

It can also be the pump itself.
Without any mechanism to hold vacuum I have seen some pumps run  backwards for a bit when turned off.

I have a one way valve right on the pump.
