XCR skinning

Hi i have just completed the step 11 of the skinning process on my mirror covers. At this stage would it ok to use water with the 120 grit sand paper when flattening he surface for the final coat. 
Also i have got very lunpy rough edges what is the best technique to get them flush right to the edge thank you.

Hi Shaz,

Yes you can use wet sanding during Step 12.  Normally it is not necessary as the sanding at 240 grit will in most cases take out the dry 120 grit scratches. But there is no harm in wet sanding at 120 Grit.

For the lumpy edges, now is the time to shape and flatten them with the sandpaper.  keep at the 120grit until you get it flat and to the desired shape.  If you are going through to the carbon, stop, thoroughly clean the part, then re-coat in XCR so you have enough resin to sand to the desired shape.

I have just completed step 12 of the process after using the 240 grit paper i am still left with a few faint scratch marks is that ok before putting the final coat on or should instill be rubbing till those scracthes have been removed. Thank you

Yes that should be fine.  I would expect to still see some scratches from the 240 grit even after sanding it wet as it is still quite a coarse paper.
