Seems to be a good few people making there own panels for these cars now. 
I'm working on this at the moment..

Great work on those moulds and a shed load of effort and time spent I'm certain. Good to see that you've also managed to make it pay by selling on a set or two as well

Did you produce those panels for your existing car or are they the ones you bought? I'm guessing that you've converted from an Elise body?

Am I correct in thinking that those rear quarter panels are specific to the conversion kit (I've made some of those also)


No I made them. Have a look here.. http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=499026&page=9 They are converted from an exige body. 

The first rear 3 piece clam moulds were a disaster as moulds stuck, so I redid them and now have a new set of moulds, certainly better just don't think they are good enough for carbon as still have mould imperfections so I might prep and spray up the car in undercoat as is then re-do moulds with flanges for vacuum bagging in mind etc. We'll see as a lot of work!

As Hanaldo posted the pics up some time ago now, they've probably become unavailable feom the source. Some fine and meticulous work involved there, though

Not certain if the pics will load up okay from my phone, but I've recently made a couple of S1 bits too. They felt tricky enough, but nowhere near as much as a full clam

Have you already made some moulds of various body sections? Post up some pics, as I'm sure that some imperfections can be made better or remedied in the final part.

Fair enough. Those parts look fantastic. Not sure my wide arch moulds are good enough in their current state to produce parts like those!

No, quite a lot of cutting and jointing to get a decent weave alignment. Cutting templates made for the bonnet piece and some tricky cutting of the fabric whilst laying the main piece of fabric in the mould for the engine cover, after the small vertical pieces had been laid in. 

240g fabric was used as it's more stable than 200g and is more drapable than something like Profinish.
