Hi everyone,
I want to make a food grade resin mould for making pie crusts. I know how to make the mould, avoiding undercuts etc, but cannot find any information on what materials to use.
A pourable resin would be ideal. The mould would be placed in a press and only be in contact with the dough for less than 5 seconds.
Any ideas would be gratefully received.
Regards,
John.

"Masterbond" does a food grade epoxy coating, that also has good high temperature properties.

As long as you coat the "working surfaces" of the mold with something like this, you should have no problems making the "mold" itself from "standard resins and reinforcement.

You state that you need to use the mold in a press, that probably means that you will have to add some sort of reinforcement to the resin.

This could be either in the form of standard "cloth" CF or glassfibre, or you could use powdered CF...
