The winters setting in now and I'm thinking of having a go at building a snowboard! I realise that I'm not gonna build one as good as commercial ones but it'd like somthing to mess about on when there's snow at home, I've done a fair bit of boarding but have always borrowed mates gear. does anybody know where I should start... I can make a wood core no problems but how many layers of cloth should I use? anyone got any idea of orientation? I'm gonna order the edging and P-tex for the base. any help on this one would be ace. Or am I best leaving it well alone?!!!

Like Baja said, if you are doing it to have a "cheaper" board you don't have to do it...If you have some budget and just want to have some fun making one you can give it a go...
