Several possible problems.
What was the second part you took the mould from made from. Had you applied anything to the surface of the part like 2k primer?
Did the mould release from the part ok?
How long and what temperatures was each stage allowed to cure at? ie how long was the gelcoat left before the coupling coat was applied. And how long was the coupling coat left before the backing layers where applied?
How long and at what temp was the mould left to cure before demoulding?
Sorry for all the questions but it will help us to understand/explain what went wrong.

If the print through isn't too bad then there may be enough gelcoat to flat and polish out the print through.
Depending on the size of the mould it may be cheaper (unless your time is free) and quicker to pull another mould.
Some pics of the part and the print through may help also.
