I think if you are looking to sell the video you need to produce a teaser / promo to get people to buy it.

The problem as mentioned (and reinforced by some of the comments) previously is that people think there is a wealth of good information out there for free on the web, i.e. youtube, vimeo etc... the problem here is that some/most? information is bad practice, poor or sometimes completely wrong. Considering the materials we all work with, the lack of even basic H&S equipment is astonishing and clearly shows little understanding of the material properties.

Why make a video to sell (shock!) ?? when you have invested xx amount over the years then it's good to pass the info on, maybe hands on tutoring is not in a lot of peoples budget whereas £10-20 for a video is and this can be refered back to as much as required, although I would think something like a locked stream / download would be more preferable in this day and age, although more likely to be less income per item, probably a larger customer base. Decent editing and production is not cheap and not for the faint hearted unless you know someone so the outlay is not just in the materials and time spent making the video. These days, if you are going to sell the video then it needs to be top notch to persuade someone to get their wallet out.

Just as a side note, and something I've noticed recently, people are willing to shell out serious money for a book which may or may not be any good but they are reluctant to spend it on video type media.

Companies like easycomposites, east coast fibreglass and even the manufacturers produce free video demonstrations as it's in their interest to do so, providing insight into the products they sell. The cost of making the video will be offset very quickly if it sells CF, resin, release agent, vac bag, breathers etc... to just 1/100th of the video views.

Good luck with the venture

guys not a problem to share video one think we payed for dvd disk 500 pounds. so who be interested we sell and recovery money and then we can do any videos to show for free.

Main think is in video right resin and how you lay materials and join as dvd only for a wrapping.

what we tested all videos from youtube what like in uk say ........... information and cause us a lot of time and materials only learning by errors we got that quality.Everything goes on small details.

Holy crap, 100 quid? I'm sorry mate but this price is just ridiculous...Good luck with it though, you might need it Smile I think you need to look at some basic economics book because you've made 3 big mistakes so far.

1. Price of 100 quid for something that is all words, no previews, no nothing.
2. You said that once you recoup your investment of 500 you'll give it for free... Now why would anybody buy something that will become free? Everybody would rather wait until somebody buys it and then get it for free. And trust me, EVERYBODY is gonna wait.
3. You're trying to recoup your money in a greedy way. You invested 500 for DVDs and you want to get that back as quickly as possibly. Guess how many people are going to buy it at 100 quid and how many at 10...

You need to rethink your whole strategy Smile

Good luck!

This is kind of getting weird when you beg us to buy your DVD's :p
try something else or give your DVD's away for free and use the publicity to sell some of your products

Maybe you should have done some market research before starting this whole thing? See what people want, how many people want it and last but now least, how much they're willing to pay for it. Starting a costly project without any prior research is a little pointless. It's like making a carbon fiber part for something that you don't even know if people have a need of and then slam some high price on it so you can recoup your investment ASAP. You say 99GBP for the DVD but what do I get for my money? All I've heard so far is which resins to use, how to make joints and stuff like that. It's like if I have a car for sell and I tell you "it has doors, 4 wheels and runs on petrol." Wouldn't you like to see some pictures of the car? If the interior? What the car looks like? Same thing here. You're trying to sell something giving some very vague description. Don't get me wrong, I'm trying to help you. I am personally VERY interested in having this DVD but not at that price.

And one more very important thing. Have you considered the fact that DVD content with HIGH price tends to end up on torrent sites way more quickly then cheaper stuff? Trust me, if you do keep that price, sooner rather than later, your DVD will end up on PirateBay and that's when your sales will immediately stop. If you play it right, put a good price that everybody can afford, people won't bother making a torrent.
