Does anyone have any experience in making a white water kayak helmet??

I have made the plug and the mold but my test helmet came out still quite flexible?

just wondering on recommendations for layup specs to get a solid helmet suitable for kayaking. I know that it is probably just a case of more is better but I am trying to keep weight down as much as possible as it is a race helmet after all thats why i want to go the composite route.

any help or advice would be greatly appreciated
thanks
Toby

Hey Guys

thanks for the advice  have done a new layup using carbon and kevlar, both twill weave this time so went into the mold much easier. Also clampped my original helmet inside of the new layup to compress the material and resin as much as possible using a couple of layers of peelply and a plastic bag so it wouldnt stick.

love the vacuum infusion setup you used for your hockey helmet!! looks awesome

thanks again

and fingers crossed it pops out of the mold tomorrow Smile
