I just introduced myself, I'm new to composites world..
Just an easy questions...

If I have two pieces made of FG and I need to join them togheter side to side, like putting two papers on a table side to side, can I just put some more cf with resin on the joint, overlapping the two parts, or do I need to use adhesive?

Hi and welcome. That really depends how "strong" a joint you need? I have joined FG with just resin, resin and a layer of csm and the structural adhesives available on this site. One thing to remember if the parts have a gelcoat finish make sure to sand through it before bonding otherwise you are just bonding gelcoat to gelcoat.  Hope that helps.

I'm doing an FG part for my bike like this below (which is made from someone else here in Italy, I found it in a forum), but split in two parts, left and right (forget the front part ),
and I was thinking to join them in the middle from the inside, putting some layers of resin anf fg overlapping...

it's not really a structural part... the original in abs is split in two parts that are kept togeather with just 3 plastic rivets..

That would work no problem. Is there a reason why it has to be in two halves? Can you not make it in one piece using a split mould ?

Oh yes! I know that a split mould would have been best, but it was just the second part I ever made so a split mould seemed too much to start with... and also at the beginning I thought to do it like the original (left, right, front)... I'm just learning!!
