Random idea for bag sealing

Group: Forum Members Posts: 468, Visits: 2.7K	I had this random idea and wondered if anyone had tried it so thought I'd ask. Feel free to tell me if I'm talking pish. WRT envelope bags, has anyone tried one of those bag heat sealing tools to seal up the bag? If they are good then it'd be dead easy (in my head anyway) slip the part in (ooer) and then just roll over each end and turn on the pump. Interested to see if its been done.

Group: Forum Members Posts: 468, Visits: 2.7K	I've just engaged my brain and figured why it wont work. Vac bac plastic is stable to heat (for ovening) so is unlikely to respond well to heat sealing!

This is one of the first things i thought when I saw a vac bag being done. I asked the question and was shot down immediately by the composites guru that was doing it. There will be loads of microscopic leaks apparently.
