Hello!
Did the vacuum bagging for infusion however the gauge did not achieve vacuumed pressure of 30. The set up is as shown below.

It consists of 4 U channels which are attached to the base plate using rubber/foam adhesive tapes. The edges are sealed using tacky tapes. Long pleats were also made around the corners of the U channel profiles. A hole was also drilled along the side of the longer profile for the gauge to be fitted in. Vacuum line tube was then attached to the gauge.
When the vacuum pump and valve was switched on, the vacuum line tube was sucking onto the vacuum bag instead of air. Pressure was also noticed to remained at 2 instead of 30. (Not at vacuum level)

Please kindly advise the possible mistakes made to the set up and also any solutions to solve this problem.

There are a few strange things going on here, but the drilling that hole and sticking your fitting through it is the one that stands out to me. I would suggest watching the Easy Composites infusion.....
