Does anyone have any tips on connecting from the SAE 'christmas tree' on a Javac pump to silicone hose? Or am I better off taking it out and replacing it with a BSP fitting?
Cheers

I eventually took the plunge and removed the Christmas tree adaptor. I had to hacksaw one of the branches off to get it to clear the handle as its a one piece casting, but it came out without any problems after that. The fitting in the pump takes a 3/8 BSP fittings so I was able to get a 1/4 turn valve to fit in its place and a normal BSP-8mm hose barb.
Just a watch out if anyone else goes down this route, there is very little clearance between the port and the pump handle. I had to take the knob off the valve to get enough room for it to screw in and then refit it afterwards.

Thanks for that info, I feel inspired to do the same. I feel that I am missing the quarter turn valve in my setup.

For some reason I had thought that christmas tree valve was a one way valve, I was sure I saw a somebody with a similar pump to mine saying not to take that christmas tree valve off as it was one way... I’ve probably picked them up completely wrong.

Would you be able post links for where you got the particular 3/8” BSP fitting and 8mm barb you used?

Also, out if interest, how did you figure out what size of fitting you’d need to screw into the pump?
