Does anyone have any tips on connecting from the SAE 'christmas tree' on a Javac pump to silicone hose? Or am I better off taking it out and replacing it with a BSP fitting?
Cheers

I also have a Javac 141 and struggled with a connector. I found one with hvacstore ; https://hvacstore.co.uk/sealavac-hose-nipple-barb-female-1-4-flare/
The v pumps they sell are very similar to the Javac range, a fact I confirmed with them. The flared fitting is a SAE thread.
I imagine you have it sorted by now but this may help someone else. I stayed with the sae’Christmas tree’ as I bought one of their vacuum chambers.

Hi, I have already purchased that same connection from the hvac store. Be warned, that this barb is too small in diameter to fit to the 8mm ID silicone hose that easy composites sells.

I had to buy one of these connectors and had to chop the barb off and soldered it on to 8mm ID barb that easy composites sells.

I was originally going to get the barb TIG welded but realised that the part from the hvac store is made out of brass and not steel. FYI.

This part from the hvac store works perfect now although I still don’t have a clue what thread it is. When I went looking people were perplexed when I asked for 1/4” SAE.

I still have the other “3/8” SAE” inlet I need to find a fitting for. I’d like to plug this up with something better than the plastic caps that are supplied with the pump.

I’d love to know and see pics of how other people have solved this problem.
