Hello everyone,

I would like to cast the backplate of a tail light.  silicone 2 piece mould is already made and I am looking for the right casting resin.

As this part is needed to mount on the car (screws), it must be strong / flexibility is not important.  Needs to be UV resistant for years.  on some places, part is only 2MM thick.

I was thinking to use the Xencast P6 resin, eventualy combined with carbon fibre powder (as the part must be black anyway).

Is this the best solution or are there other solutions / suggestions?

thanks for your reply Warren, will post cure the resin.

inside of the tail lights is paintend silver for reflection.  perhaps there is a coating in the easy comp range that reflects (light and heat)?
