Hi,

After lots of planning I am about to commit to my project and buy some mould making materials. As you can see from the simple cad, I will be making a 2 part mould, however I intend on using the pattern as an internal mould. So will be applying a layer of sheet wax onto the pattern first.

I have a few questions:

I intend to make the final part out of fibreglass, would a thickness of 1mm, including top coat be enough for a rigid part ?

I will be buying the "Epoxy Mould Making Starter Kit". Is there enough to make moulds of both sides ? The front face length is 280mm

more to follow.

Thanks

Hi, First of all may I ask you what it is? BigGrin

About the 1mm fiberglass, sounds like not much, I would personaly make it a bit thicker (just intuition)

About the mouldmaking kit, I cant help you, never used it before... maybe someone else can help you.

I hope you know that the pattern will be stuck then when finnished? unless you have a solution for that? Smile
