Does anyone have experience with low temperature prepreg?
I am using a water-soluble plug material that gets a bit soft at 75c (the lowest I can test at the moment) thought the melting temp is somewhere around 200c. As the solubility of the plug is essential to the design, I am looking into lower temp prepregs. The complexity of the part makes infusion difficult in both the multi-layer layup as well as proper resin coverage under vacuum.
Thanks

it could cause pinholes depending on if you are doing an envelope bag, and also how good the vacuum is.
Do you have any pics?

Low Temp Prepreg and Soluble Mold Material

I didn't really ask a question. Can anyone recommend a low temp prepreg? Or is anyone aware of a low temp that can be purchased in smaller quantities for prototyping? Thanks

Is your intention to use the low-temp pre-preg to make a mould for high temp pre-preg use? If so, the Easy Composites XT135 has an initial cure temp of 65°, which would allow you to cure the mould an...

The low-temp pre-preg would be used for constructing the part. Not making a mold. The plug is completely covered in carbon fiber. Sort of a 'Lost form' technique. thanks I'll checkout that product

vtc401 from SHD materials cures from 65 degrees in the oven and clave, what material are you using for your soluble mandrel?

Thanks. It's PVA

Anyone know if the PVA would cause pinhole issues? I'm guessing that I'm going to need to try it to find out as it is an unusual mold material.

Anyone know a supplier in the US that might sell pre-preg at smaller quantities? We're building working prototypes at the moment.

APCM in CT, USA sells smaller quantities and they have a 180F system but I'm pretty sure it can be cured lower. https://www.prepregs.com/
