Hello 
I am new here and need some advice.
I got a shoe made (see below) and wonder what Carbon fibre material was used?
I am a bit disappointed that it does not have the typical woven look.
Did they try to safe money?
Is the strength at least still the same?

It's a lot of fibre to take off, it would certainly affect the strength. Whether the thing has been engineered to calculated load tolerances is another matter, it's possible you could flatten that out and it would still be plenty strong. But it is also possible that it would make it too weak, so it's a risk.

I would at least try to talk to the guy, he may be reasonable.
