Hi,

What produce better surface quality? I have tried wipe on method, but it leaves wipe marks and wet marks to some places. Can someone who sprays semi-permanent can talk about the difference from wiping. I am using Frekote.

Spraying really just wastes a lot of material and can be extremely unhealthy. 75% of what you spray just goes into the atmosphere. If you needed 250mls to properly treat a tool, you would need to spray 1L. Massive massive waste.

Wiping it on gives great results as long as your technique is right, ie. not applying it too wet, leaving long enough between coats, etc. I do find Frekote leaves a bit more residue than more modern semi-perms, but it isn't actually a huge problem - it's virtually invisible on finished parts, and a quick polish with a finishing compound will remove it completely. I do prefer Chemtrend release agents though.
