Can resin overheat? I used a different brand of casting epoxy to try to make a live-edge table. I stirred the hardener/epoxy thoroughly and then made a pour. I carefully laid the wood down. I left the room and came back about 30min later to just to see the table was a little strange. I got closer and could feel the heat coming off the surface. It was too hot to touch. After a few minutes of wondering what happened, I got a food thermometer to find that it was about 60 degrees C! How is this possible? Within an hour it was almost completely solid. Like a science experiment gone bad. Can this happen with any epoxy?

60C isn't even bad. I've had thermal runaways as high as 170C. Definitely watch your mass volumes!

Yes this can happen with any resin when cast either too thick or too big a volume for what the resin was designed for. You need to carefully follow the instructions for that resin system.
