Can resin overheat? I used a different brand of casting epoxy to try to make a live-edge table. I stirred the hardener/epoxy thoroughly and then made a pour. I carefully laid the wood down. I left the room and came back about 30min later to just to see the table was a little strange. I got closer and could feel the heat coming off the surface. It was too hot to touch. After a few minutes of wondering what happened, I got a food thermometer to find that it was about 60 degrees C! How is this possible? Within an hour it was almost completely solid. Like a science experiment gone bad. Can this happen with any epoxy?
