I have made a wooden table top and in the centre I have cut out a rectangular shape ( 29cm by 60cm ) and glued down small ceramic tiles. The height of the inlay from top of the tiles to the level of table top is 8mm. Can I use GlassCast 30 to fill in the inlay and coat the table top all in one go, or do I need to use GlasCast 50 to fill in the inlay and pour Glasscast 30 over that and the rest of the table top.

GlassCast  3 will still work for this project.  In the past, people have poured it up to 10mm in one pour, although you would get better results doing this in 2 pours.  First fill in the inlay so it is level with the table, then once the resin is part cured and firm but tacky, then go for the second coat over the whole table.  This is a better way for 2 reasons: one, in this warm weather, it is less likely to get any heat distortion  doing it in 2 stages, and secondly,  doing it in two pours will give you a smoother overall finish as you are less likely to get any 3D effect on the surface from the inlay.

Thanks for the advice. How long would you expect the first fill to become firm but tacky?  I have used wooden floorboards to make the table. Do I have to brush a thin layer of the resin on first and let it set before doing the final pour?

As it is quite a thick section, the infill would cure a fair bit quicker than a thin coating.  You could be looking as quick as 4-8 hours to get the firm but tacky stage.

Ideally we recommend a sealing coat on wood surfaces  as it prevents any air in the wood from being displaced by the resin mid cure which can leave bubbles trapped in the cured resin.  Leave the sealing coat 24 hours to harden then key with sandpaper  and clean again, ready to do the main pour.

Hello I’m making a bar top with beer bottle tops and after the beer tops have gone in the gap left to fill is around 5mm. Is GlassCast 3 the right one to use? as it does say 3mm recommended. GlassCast 3 would be easier as no polishing is required

Yes the GlassCast 3 is ideal for Beer bottle tops. The 3 generally applies to the typical thickness of the resin coat over the top of the objects which for beer top tables etc is around 3mm. So filling the gaps up is fine.
