Im fairly new to this but i could recommend east coast fibre glass, I Have tried the putty and it doesnt go far at all and had better results at a quarter of the price using fibre glass to reinforce my moulds. East coast do a big tub of pva mould release and tooling coat at a good price and enough to make several moulds.

Hi,

For the mold making products, it depends what kind of part you will want to do.

If it's a small part (for example a dish or a car headlight surrounding) then the mold making putty + green epoxy gelcoat system will work just fine.

If the part is larger (for example a car's hood), then putty will be more tricky to apply properly in one take, especially if you're alone. And it will take a lot of time. There is another mold making method that EC sells. It is called the UniMold system.  It is used to mold a car hood, and then the video also shows how to make the carbon fiber part (its a three part video). See the product here.  You can see videos of it here.

For the infusion kit, I'd recommend you to buy the kit WITH the pump, since everything has proved to work right. Many of us have it and I never heared someone complaining about it.

EC has very good products and customer service is great.

Hope it helps.
