I'm tired of doing wet lay up for this, it's time to bag it.

Bearing mind that there is a "high point", where would be best to put the spiral? along one end and up to that high point? Or something else?  Would it need more layers of infusion mesh on the high "sides"? Any direction you guys could give would be appreciated.  I know that the flanges aren't large so I'd have to envelope bag the whole thing.

The reinforcement is 4 layers of 200 carbon if that makes a difference (the marks on the mould are just stray bits of peel ply that drifted on to it)

What I like to do is to put a spiral around the entire part, creating an equal amount of vacuum everywhere on your part.

I'm with Matthieu for the spiral around the entire edge.

For the process, I set the resin feed on the spiral, and vacuum port is in the middle (kinda) of the mold.

If you do it like Matthieu, the vacuum port should then be on the spiral.

Just a thought: you say that you are using 4 layers of 200g/sqm of cloth. Why not using a 200g/sqm layer for the cosmetic side, and 1 layer of 650 g/sqm for the backside? It would surely drop the costs down. But hey, I dont know what are your requirements.

Thanks both. Putting the vac line in the middle, would that not mean that resin would be pulled out pretty fast before the ends of the part were wetted out? Side to side it's obviously a lot narrower...

Joe, that might be an idea, yes, though I have quite a bit of 200 carbon which is mostly offcuts a friend gave me and the weave is a little "pulled" so I'm using that for the mid layers. Once I run out though, I'll go with your suggestion if I need to make more. Thanks.
