Hi,
I am looking for suggestions on books or maybe some links to tutorials explaining more in-depth the property's of carbon fibre?
to explain a little more..
I have made plenty of decorative items with carbon (mainly trial and error to get correct results) and feel very confident with my techniques from tooling to vacuum infusion to finishing and polishing,
but i have no scientific understanding of the strengths and weaknesses as required for making weight bearing items! or realistically engineering lightweight high strength products.
Basically I need easy to understand yet informative books, tutorials and guides on understanding how to predict the properties of cured carbon items in a bid to reduce waste and improve the efficacy of my items
(maybe easy composites could do a new video tutorial covering some of this!?)
thanks

You’re right CarbonMike, but if crispycat doesn’t have engineer knowledge (and I believe he hasn’t) those books are the only kind he will understand. Buying more technical books will probably not work for crispycat.
Please tell me if I’m wrong crispycat!
I have a good example. I bought
Composite Materials: Engineering and Science (
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Composite-Materials-Engineering-F-L-Matthews/dp/1855734737/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1339614549&sr=8-1
)
just to realise that I can’t learn much whit it because I don’t have engineer kind of knowledge.
