Hi Daz,
With the Unimould system, the coupling coat (laid with a 150-225gsm chopped strand mat) should be left to cure at least to a 'tack' state, which is normally about 3-4hrs, you then proceed with the backing ply. You can leave it longer than that, however, if the tackiness has been lost you should scuff it with course sand-paper to ensure that the backing with bond properly. If you proceed with the backing plys too early you risk disturbing the coupling layer and pottentially get air-voids emerging between the gel-coat and reinforcement.
