Hey all,
I'm just wondering if anyone has got specific data for the exact resin uptake of 3D PET core? Per m2/per mm thickness?
Need to calculate my resin requirements for a job, roughly 1.1 sqm with 10mm PET core, but I can't find a specific number anywhere.
Thanks a lot,
Martin.

We have looked through the manufacturer's datasheet and there is no specific data.

Yeh I had a look through the manufacturer's stuff and couldn't find anything, so was hoping someone else had measured it. Surprises me that the manufacturer would leave something like that out when one of the major advantages of infusion is that you can calculate resin requirements very accurately and minimise waste.
Anyway, I will be doing some tests tomorrow with some 3mm core. Will measure the resin uptake of that and then do a test later with 10mm core to see how it compares. Should be able to get it quite accurate.

I did some tests some time ago, I will try to see if I can find some data for it ..
I infused 3 different core materials in the same go .. and cut out pieces of each in identical size .. I should be able to compute something from that..
Alternatively You can have the data, and work on them yourself...

Yes I remember you posting your results in the discussion about cork as a core material. From memory you used 3mm PET core and 2mm Soric/cork? I might finally get round to replicating that test today, although I've only got 3mm Soric so it won't be a direct comparison to your tests.
Will let you know how I get on.
