Group: Forum Members Posts: 4, Visits: 29	Hi i plan on making a Roll Wrapped carbon fiber tube of 90mm ID and 97mm OD.I was planing on using 12k 400gsm plain weave Carbon fiber material for the same but i am concerned that the cloth will not conform well to the mandrel at the time of wrapping.I plan to vacuum bag after wrapping it manually . So will 12k 400gsm plain weave cloth work or do i need to change the weave/cloth? Please help Tags carbonfiber rods tow tube weave Edited 9 Years Ago by M Hathiyari

Also do you know the kind of plastic and un-perforated film is made of.Since i am not able to get hold of it in my country so was thinking of sourcing the same material film as an alternative. @Dravis Ive Seen people back their cloth with some plastic film/butter paper and then wet it.Hence when they roll the fabric onto the mandrel it doesn't skew.How effectivee is that compared to spraying? How much is structural strength compromised by skewing of weave?....sine the part i am building is taking some pretty nasty loads
