Is it just to add a "coloured background"/ prevent "see-through" of the glass? If that's the case, you can simply sand-blast the back side of the glass, and use 2-component auto spray paint on the matted surface, it will be just as strong as a layer of epoxy or poly resin. And you can get it any colour you like

I did a dark edge around my bathroom mirror that way, taped up the area not to loose its silver reflective backing, sandblasted it ,taped up the outer edge leaving a 4 cm wide matte glass area for the LED backlight, and a matte dark grey edge.
