Group: Forum Members Posts: 3, Visits: 5	I'm looking for a carbon fibre material upon which to sit materials to be furnaced; what is the maximum working temperature of the carbon fibre sheet or fabric materials? The process currently operates between 900 and 1000 C for several hours, will any of the materials be able to withstand these conditions? Tags carbon fibre fabric processing sheet temperature

As a very short answer, no, carbon will definitely not be suitable

As above, the key problem is the resin system itself.

Graphite. Can be machined easily and is quite temperature resistant.

If you have metallic potassium in that reaction, it might react with alumina too.
