Hi, I'm making a pattern for a boot spoiler, the way i was going to do it was to laser cut profile templates from 3mm hardboard (see attachment), space them at 50mm intervals on the boot lid, fill the gaps with pattern making low density PU foam blocks hot melt glued into the gaps.
next sand down to the profiles, skim with filler, pattern coat etc.

can anyone see any reason why this wouldn't work ok?
