I am going to attempt to make a CF hood and I would like your suggestions on what resin to use. It is my understanding that epoxy resin is stronger but turns yellow via UV rays. I have been told poly resin is not as strong but great for UV protection. I really would like to make the best product possible so with this application how would you go about it? Thanks

I think I found my answer. Using GC50 hopefully will protect the part from UV.

I would go for epoxy and laquer as well! if you have some problems with pinholes or whatsoever on the finish you'll have to use a 2k laquer anyways (for cosmetic parts)
the 2K laquer will prevent it from being attacked by UV

One product I'm experimenting with on the next wakeboard is Durepox clear, it's a 2k high build topcoat that has UV blockers in it and used in the marine industry quite a lot. really hard finish once cured, impossible to sand after a week or so

Let us know how you get on. I would be interested in a post mould coating that hard that can stand 50 - 100mm of flex over 300mm without delaminating.
