Hi very basic to you boys but i have never worked with epoxy before ,so be gentle.
I wish to fit drawers in the rear of my van but to keep the weight down was to make them out of thin ply? then coat them with epoxy ,maybe a strip of glass on the corners.

1. is this idea possible
2.what materials
3.how to go about it
4. will they stand up to the hard usage and weight of being in a work van
5. Any other advice would be great

(i am a carpenter so timber construction side of things is not a problem, i just want to keep the weight down but maintain strength)
 Thanks

Thats hard to say. Not having played with ply much myself I wouldnt be able to compare the two fairly but to me it sounds like you are expecting one layer of glass to replicate the equivilent of 10mm of ply, and that sounds a big ask!!.

Perhaps a couple of tests with offcuts are in order? keep adding layers of glass or increasing ply thickness until desired result is achieved.
