Hi guys,
I’ve used the uni mould system in the past and I really like it. However due to new commitments I am only able to work on my moulds around 3h a day Sad Therefore I wouldn’t have the time to make a complete mould in one day.

I was wondering if I can let the gelcoat cure over a period of 24h before applying the coupling coat, and then let the coupling coat cure over 24h before applying the tooling resin ? Or can I apply the coupling coat and tooling resin at once ?

Thanks

HI,

As long as you key the surface with sandpaper after it has gone fully hard then you should be fine.  You could vary the MEKP ratio to make it take longer to cure but that would need to be experimented with to get it just right for the timings and temperature you are working at.
