Hello,

There is this product on their Lantor website (Lantor FinishMat D77) , but I never saw any comment about it or see videos being applied.

On the site just says this:

Lantor Finishmat® D77
- Excellent surface finish
- Reduction of process cycle time
- Gelcoat can be replaced by pigmented resin
- Easy to process
- Becomes translucent in resin
- High elongation

Applications Lantor Finishmat® D77
- Marine: hulls, decks, and structures of boats and yachts
- Transportation: parts and panels of cars, trailers,
trucks and RV’s
- General closed mould applications

However I could not understand at what stage of the process is used, if it can be used for those who do infusion without Gelcoat, etc ..

placed in mould as a first layer. I am not sure it will become clear enough to use it if you want to show the fabric. i usually use a 30gsm glass fleece which works well in reducing print through.

Thanks for information!

I've been talking to the manufacturer and they answered me the following:
The Finishmat will give a fully transparent and glossy finish like that of a transparent gelcoat, without having to apply the gelcoat.
The Finishmat is co-infused and this is works very well for a durable carbon look.

I've used it as a print blocker with epoxy/carbon infusion and it is invisible - it just looks like a thicker resin layer.  If you overlap it in places it can be a little yellow-ish or thick looking. Have had pinhole issues with spray-adhesive when putting it in the mold - not sure if type of spray or quantity was at play - wasn't bad but the parts were getting painted.
