Hi guys, i have two part mold and i now need to make part from this mold and i was wondering how i can infuse using the two part mold such that the resin will not leak, has anyone come across this issue, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I have also been considering this, have you tried it yet? From what I have collected you use a bit of the bagging tape to connect the molds. Then some even go as far as bolting together.

yes i have, i'm using a 3 piece mould. use silicone sealant and bolt the pieces together, after use just rub off the silicone sealer, job done!

i would say that when your getting ready to start laying up your mould, if you make some small balls of wax then cut them in half and stick them on your flanges, when you come to do the other side remove the wax and continue as normal. in doing this on a straight flanged edge you get locating dimples so your mould is always correctly aligned

I did a couple of two part molds and infused them. I had made a groove in the joining flanges and put tacky tape in the groove and clamped the two pieces down tight. It worked but was hard to get the flanges down flush. I like the guys suggestion of using siicone sealant and let it cure before infusing.

I put the gum tape before all around the bolt hole as a air tight, I do not fill the  gap inside mold with wax or clay because it will be  extracted into the carbon parts

It depends on the size of the mold but you can envelope bag without leaking

Im still amazed how you managed to do such a complex mould  and get such good results with very little experience! proof that if you follow the technique to the letter then good results can follow.
