Wheel arch liners for my little plastic skip are getting scarce and are freekin' dear from GM/vxl.  Some of the owners have considered making them and the flexible resin often crops up.  Not best for the job IMO.  Anyone ever made arch liners with any success?  The OEM plastic is nice and tough 600 quid each is a bit OTT though.

I made some inner guards for our Lotus Exige race car just out of some flat sheet. I think it was 1 sacrificial layer of fibreglass > 1 layer carbon/kevlar > 1 layer kevlar > 1 layer carbon/kevlar.

These were flexible enough to be folded around the wheel arch and held in place with blind rivets. They work very well, 300-something laps and a few trips into the sand later the fibreglass layer hasn't even been damaged yet.

Will try to find my photos.
