Wheel arch liners for my little plastic skip are getting scarce and are freekin' dear from GM/vxl.  Some of the owners have considered making them and the flexible resin often crops up.  Not best for the job IMO.  Anyone ever made arch liners with any success?  The OEM plastic is nice and tough 600 quid each is a bit OTT though.

What's it used for?

Wheel arch liners on a car.  They stop all the mud, stones and crap getting into the nooks and crannies of the car.  They'll often be subject to sharp impacts and require to be flexible for ritting / removing.

I made some inner guards for our Lotus Exige race car just out of some flat sheet. I think it was 1 sacrificial layer of fibreglass > 1 layer carbon/kevlar > 1 layer kevlar > 1 layer carbon/kevlar.

On what, the Lotus? Freakin junk. You wouldn't believe how badly fibreglass panels could be made on an expensive car like a Lotus Exige. 

Glad it's not just me that thinks that
