Apart from the pleasing look of pure carbon twill in comparison to carbon kevlar twill of the same weight, why choose carbon instead over the stronger hybrid version? say in a car panel.

I do find it a bit funny to look at this "space-age material" combined with a window -wind-up handle that looks like it came from a Metro  --

I have seen Kevlar/carbon mix-weaves like that before, where the fibre ratio is 1:3 rather than 2:2  ..

Interesting point about the hygroscopic properties of Kevlar ..
