Advice on my first split mould

Group: Forum Members Posts: 16, Visits: 361	I've bought the uni-mould kit (and resin infusion kit) from EC as I'm wanting to make a mould of a racing car nose cone. There are a few features that make it a little more complicated so I'm a little unsure. I wondered whether to make split lines down the lower 'fins' that pop down below the nose as that's the main bit of concern. Thanks for any advice you can give me, I really appreciate it. Tags mould nose cone racing car

Group: Forum Members Posts: 460, Visits: 5.2K	Are there any split lines visible in the original part? It looks like you have some undercuts at the root end of the nose, I would see what it's like once you extend the surfaces to make the tool.

Sorry, I don't quite follow. What do you mean by 'extend the surfaces to make the tool'? Are you talking about flanges on the mould?

Yep the flanges. You will need a good 2-3 inches.
