The winters setting in now and I'm thinking of having a go at building a snowboard! I realise that I'm not gonna build one as good as commercial ones but it'd like somthing to mess about on when there's snow at home, I've done a fair bit of boarding but have always borrowed mates gear. does anybody know where I should start... I can make a wood core no problems but how many layers of cloth should I use? anyone got any idea of orientation? I'm gonna order the edging and P-tex for the base. any help on this one would be ace. Or am I best leaving it well alone?!!!

Well you're brave! There have been one or two "how it's made" episodes showing how snowboards and skis are made, you will probably find these on YouTube.
