I have build a lot of parts out of GRP and CRP using different methods. Started with wet hand layup to prepreg oven cured or autoclaaf, RTM. But I am always curios about new methods and materials.

I designed and build a sport airplane including the tooling and molds.  See the website:  HTTP\\ WWW.dac-ranger.nl   At the moment I am constructing a new composite hardtop for my BMW Z4 roadster. I don`t like the design of the original BMW hardtop and it`s heavy. Using carbon and Carbon/aramide will save weight.

When finished and on the car it will no longer look like an roadster but like an Z4 Coupe.

I hope to learn a lot on this forum, sins this is my first visit. Smile

Jan,

I did not know that particular fabric. Did you already use it? What about its drapeability?

For the clear resin, just a thought... But I think the resin color is fading only cos of the UV , am i wrong? So I think a simple 2k laquer would protect the resin from fading?

Keep posting pics Wink

No, I have `t used before, look at the web store of Advanced Composite, just found out that they have it on there product list as well.
Anyway, for a flat roof, drapeability is not necessarily important.
