Hello

You designed and built the tooling of the plane in your attached picture? WOW it is beautiful, nice work.

You will learn a lot from this group, they share information freely.

Fred

I have attached a few pictures of my plane that I gutted the interior and dash and redesigned it in carbon fiber to house the new Garmin GPS 796.

Hi Matt

I too make aircraft parts and repairs. I see you have a topic for model aircraft and model helicopters.

But I think you also need a topic like.  "Composite Aircraft Technics"  or something in that line.

I am liking this forum more and more as people share information and I learn from them.

In appreciation, I have been sharing my hard learned tips and tricks also.

Just a thought.

No, I have `t used before, look at the web store of Advanced Composite, just found out that they have it on there product list as well.
Anyway, for a flat roof, drapeability is not necessarily important.

Jan,

I did not know that particular fabric. Did you already use it? What about its drapeability?

For the clear resin, just a thought... But I think the resin color is fading only cos of the UV , am i wrong? So I think a simple 2k laquer would protect the resin from fading?

Keep posting pics Wink

Hi Matt,

I am thinking of RTM ,under foil, to use for the roof part. I want this part to be clear so that the special weave stay`s visible. I think that the TeXtreme carbon fabric will look very good. Smile
For the core I am not sure yet, honeycomb or foam. foam add more weight, the honeycomb could "shine" trough, and the surface looks like a golf ball. Sad

Could you advice a resin that`s very clear and stays clear over the years?

regards Jan
