Hi
Id like to know what are the main differences between using a venturi vacuum system and a pump sistem.
Purchasing a venturi one seems cheaper(already have a good compresor),but Id like to know what is the downside if there is,and its limits.
We are focusing on small bycicle parts,no infusion.
Thanks in advance.

The main difference is that the venturi requires a good air supply to generate the vacuum but you already know that Wink
I used one when i first started out in composites and used and vacuum switch to open the air supply if the vacuum dropped so the compressor didnt have to supply air or run to fill the tank all the time. 90PSI gave a good vacuum.
I now use an electric pump simply for convenience and it also doesnt sound like an air rifle firing everytime vacuum drops.
The venturi was the slower of the 2 to evacuate a metre square bag down to vacuum but not by much. Both gave an about equal negative pressure.

Thanks fo the reply rObsk1

So it works, but, thinking of it twice and taking in account other replies in another section of the forum,it might be wise to get a pump, just in case one day we want to go for bigger parts etc...sounds its worth it in long term.

"sound like an air rifle firing everytime vacuum drops
"

Know what you mean....get that feeling once in a while

Thanks for the info!
