Hi,

I have just done my first vacuum bagging using EL2 epoxy laminating resin with the slow hardener, my question is how long do you need to leave the vacuum pump running, after the laminate as gelled or dos it need to fully cure?

Hi!
I think that you should wait 4-5h at least, but you can also leave it for full 20h, it depands on your electric current economy and your vaccum pomp quality ( check if it won't boil the oil and spill it everywhere)

if your bag has no leaks, then it should be fine to turn off

If it helps I leave my pump on overnight (leybold heraeus) for slow cure resin and for about 6 hours with fast cure resin.  This is with the room at 18 deg C and an electric blanket / duvet over the moulding.  NOt had a problem yet but the mouldings are fully cured when I turn off the pump.

As with infusion, if the bag has no leaks, no need for the pump to be on.
