I am thinking of using epoxy resin for the glue and coating on some vertical laminated hard woods, ie square strips of wood bonded side by side to create a plank.

I am worried that when i glue and clamp the strips together glue will leak and stain the non glued part of the wood.

Does anyone have any tips to help prevent this. Can i coat these faces in a release agent. I intend to coat the entire plank with coating resin once finished so would the release agent be possible to remove ?

Is there a better way of controlling spill from the joint ?

thanks
