Okay guys, as you can see from the pics the mold would not allow me to use infusion mesh over the entire mold surface due to some of the complex shapes.
The resin started okay but when the laminate was around 1/3 way I started losing vacuum on the inlet side, the bag became loose and resin flow slowed.
vacuum...as soon as the resin hit the laminate, everything behind the resin line (wet area) I lose vacuum, everything in front (dry) retains vacuum pressure.
Is this caused by vacuum not correctly distributed?

I can't see the pictures you've posted.

It is natural to an extent to loose some vacuum on the resin feed side of the mould but it should not become totally loose. What should happen is when you shut the resin feed line, the whole bag should fairly quickly become tight again.

It could be not helped by poor resin distribution. This can be solved by using more resin spiral to distribute resin to problem areas. Also you can cut thin strips of infusion mesh to help flow in other places.

Hi Single snail
you need to mesh the whole part or use a core material if you want it to flow, i will not make its way through fabric on its own.

do i cut holes in the mesh where the boss's stick up? i'm afraid the mesh wont allow the peel ply to sit into the small radi corners or will the resin flow threw the mesh and around the areas where no mesh is situated causing dry spots to form?

You can place the mesh in in sections as long as they butt up or overlap, i feel the mesh you are using is not helping matters. Do not use a stretch type bagging material either.

As Chris mentioned, in essence youve left a gap almost all the way across the part with no mesh hence no flow.  You need mesh in most places especially creating a flow from the resin feed to vacuum side of the mould.  Small bits like the boss's should be fine without mesh as its a small area so will naturally flow into small areas with no mesh but not massive expanses like youve got.

thanks guys!
Just as i suspected, thanks for the clarification.

My laminates so far have always used the Soric XF, which allowed me not to use mesh across the entire part.

thanks again guys, ill give it another shot! waiting on my Easy Lease to arrive here in the Houston, since we don't have anything comparable. (using Fiberlease, similar but requires lots! of buffing to obtain the gloss)
Items like GC50 and Easy lease just cant be found in the states Sad, appears were behind on technology over here compared to you guys. and shipping is a killer on large quantities.
