Hi all
as the title realy, in the instruction guide it states post curing of the mould is not essential if using for normal ambient use but for in mould post curing + pre-preg is it required
is it absolutely essential?

I ask as I dont realy have the ability at the minute to post cure at the temperature for the instructed time length etc, 60 degrees for 10 hours + so on
I can do it for 60 degrees but only 2 hours at a time + it would cool down betwern each time
would this be ok? Has it got to be as per the guide? Is it 100% required?

Thanks in advance for the help

Oh yes! If you don't cook the styrene out of the mould, the epoxy in the prepreg will crosslink with it and you'll have to rip it off, destroying your part and the mould surface.

You want to post cure slightly higher than your peak curing temp. You also need to ramp your postcure. Depending on the size of the mould between 2-5 degrees a minute.

If you're doing prepreg, you have to cure for that length of time anyway, so how are you curing your part?

If you are near the southwest, you can always hire our oven time, we have a fridge sized oven and a 1.2 cubed metre one.
